Minum khamr/miras hukumnya haram, Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala berfirman di dalam Al Qur’an,

يَاأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّمَا الْخَمْرُ وَالْمَيْسِرُ وَالْأَنْصَابُ وَالْأَزْلَامُ رِجْسٌ مِنْ عَمَلِ الشَّيْطَانِ فَاجْتَنِبُوهُ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ (90) إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَنْ يُوقِعَ بَيْنَكُمُ الْعَدَاوَةَ وَالْبَغْضَاءَ فِي الْخَمْرِ وَالْمَيْسِرِ وَيَصُدَّكُمْ عَنْ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ وَعَنِ الصَّلَاةِ فَهَلْ أَنْتُمْ مُنْتَهُونَ (91)

Nabi Muhammad shallahu ‘alaihi wasallam bersabda,

‌كُلُّ ‌شَرَابٍ ‌أَسْكَرَ فَهُوَ حَرَامٌ

Islam adalah agama Tauhid, diutus melalui perantara Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam bagi seluruh alam; menerangi dengannya akal pikiran manusia, mengangkat cinta syahwat menuju cinta kepada Allah, membedakan manusia atas binatang dengan akal pikiran jua. Karena itulah Islam mengharamkan dan menutup sarana bagi manusia segala sesuatu yang tidak bermanfaat dan berbahaya bagi mereka, salah satunya ialah khamr (minuman keras) yang merusak akal pikiran.

Khamr merupakan benda buruk yang menjadi candu bagi jiwa para sahabat Nabi radhiyallahu ‘anhum sebelum masuk Islam dan pada masa awal dakwah Nabi shallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam. Dengan ijin Allah, ketergantungan itu dicabut oleh Allah tahap demi tahap. Kemudian ditanamkanlah rasa cinta kepada Islam pada hati mereka sebagai ganti atas rasa cinta kepada khamr. Tahapan-tahapan itu ialah:

1. Tahap Pertama:

Pada tahap pertama, Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala belum secara lantang menyebutkan keharaman khamr (miras) yang masih biasa dikonsumsi waktu itu (adat), melainkan dengan menyebutkan bahwa khamr memiliki lebih banyak efek buruk ketimbang manfaat baiknya, atau dengan kata lain, khamr masih dianggap memiliki sedikit manfaat. Pada waktu itu, masih berat bagi masyarakat untuk meninggalkan dan berhenti mengkonsumsi khamr, karena masih menjadi bahan kenikmatan dan berbangga-bangga kepada sesama. Allah ta’ala berfirman,

يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الْخَمْرِ وَالْمَيْسِرِ قُلْ فِيهِمَا إِثْمٌ كَبِيرٌ وَمَنَافِعُ لِلنَّاسِ وَإِثْمُهُمَا أَكْبَرُ مِنْ نَفْعِهِمَا وَيَسْأَلُونَكَ مَاذَا يُنْفِقُونَ قُلِ الْعَفْوَ كَذَلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ اللَّهُ لَكُمُ الْآيَاتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَفَكَّرُونَ

2. Tahap Kedua:

Islam memulai tahapan baru untuk mengganti rasa cinta terhadap objek buruk khamr yang sudah menjadi ketergantungan manusia, agar menjadi cinta kepada Allah, dan mendekatkan diri dan takut kepadaNya. Maka datanglah larangan melaksanakan salat dalam keadaan mabuk setelah minum khamr (miras), yang artinya, belum ada larangan mengkonsumsi miras di luar keperluan salat. Allah ta’ala berfirman,

يَاأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَقْرَبُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَأَنْتُمْ سُكَارَى حَتَّى تَعْلَمُوا مَا تَقُولُونَ وَلَا جُنُبًا إِلَّا عَابِرِي سَبِيلٍ حَتَّى تَغْتَسِلُوا وَإِنْ كُنْتُمْ مَرْضَى أَوْ عَلَى سَفَرٍ أَوْ جَاءَ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ مِنَ الْغَائِطِ أَوْ لَامَسْتُمُ النِّسَاءَ فَلَمْ تَجِدُوا مَاءً فَتَيَمَّمُوا صَعِيدًا طَيِّبًا فَامْسَحُوا بِوُجُوهِكُمْ وَأَيْدِيكُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ عَفُوًّا غَفُورًا

Sesungguhnya Allah Maha Pema’af lagi Maha Pengampun.” (QS. An Nisa’: 43)

Setelah itu tercabutlah rasa cinta sebagian besar manusia terhadap khamr. Keinginan para sahabat Nabi radhiyallahu ‘anhum untuk mendekatkan diri kepada Allah semakin kuat, daripada sekedar mengikuti kenikmatan dan syahwat sesaat. Umar bin Khattab radhiyallahu ‘anhu berkata,

اللَهُمَّ بَيِّنْ لَنَا فِيْ الخَمْرِ بَيَاناً شَافِياً

“Wahai Allah, jelaskanlah kepada kami tentang khamr, dengan penjelasan yang cukup (mengobati).” [3]

3. Tahap Ketiga:

Lalu datanglah tahap ketiga pengharaman khamr (miras) di masa Nabi Muhammad shallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam, tepatnya pada tahun ke 3 Hijriyah. Dengan jelas Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala mengharamkan barang yang membodohkan akal pikiran manusia, merendahkan martabat mereka, menyebabkan permusuhan, menghalangi peribadatan, semua itu adalah keburukan yang Islam turun untuk menghindarkan manusia daripadanya. Allah berfirman,

يَاأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّمَا الْخَمْرُ وَالْمَيْسِرُ وَالْأَنْصَابُ وَالْأَزْلَامُ رِجْسٌ مِنْ عَمَلِ الشَّيْطَانِ فَاجْتَنِبُوهُ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ (90) إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَنْ يُوقِعَ بَيْنَكُمُ الْعَدَاوَةَ وَالْبَغْضَاءَ فِي الْخَمْرِ وَالْمَيْسِرِ وَيَصُدَّكُمْ عَنْ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ وَعَنِ الصَّلَاةِ فَهَلْ أَنْتُمْ مُنْتَهُونَ (91)

انْتَهَيْنَا، انْتَهَيْنَا!

Hikmah Pengharaman Miras Secara Bertahap

  1. Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala yang Maha Bijak, menjadikan tahapan-tahapan baik untuk perkara wajib maupun haram dalam turunnya hukum-hukum syariat. Benda ini dinamakan khamr karena menutupi akal dan menguasainya. Sangat sulit bagi peminum khamr bertaubat darinya secara spontan terlebih jika sudah kecanduan. Sehingga harus ditinggalkan tahap demi tahap untuk bisa menerima yang kebenaran, sebagaimana ayat tentang khamr yang diturunkan secara bertahap. [5]
  3. Hukum-hukum Ilahi yang turun dengan bertahap ini haruslah diteladani dan diterapkan dalam berinteraksi kehidupan dengan manusia. Ketika ingin menerapkan syariat Islam yang benar, melanjutkan kehidupan Islami yang lebih sempurna, memunculkan masyarakat Islami yang sebenarnya, maka tidak mungkin direalisasikan dengan satu tulisan tanda tangan, keputusan raja, presiden, atau parlemen dalam sekali perintah, melainkan bisa terealisasi dengan dakwah yang bertahap. Dakwah yang bertahap ialah dengan perencanaan, persiapan, baik dari pikiran dan jasad, dari sisi perilaku dan interaksi sosial, dan itulah manhaj yang dijalankan oleh Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam untuk merubah kehidupan jahiliyah yang sudah sangat rusak parah, menjadi sumber para pejuang yang rela mengorbankan apapun untuk agama Islam.
